Please use headphones/earbuds to get the best sound experience from the audio or video recordings. Don't miss out on the deep, complete musical sound to get the full effect.

30 years ago on Wednesday, August 9, 1995, the world of Deadheads everywhere was turned upside-down with the passing of Jerry Garcia.  Needing to share and look for comfort, we all gathered at the musical happening  that took place every week on Thursday at O'Donnell's in Bedford, NH.  John recently discovered the tape in his ever-constant completing of the thousands of live gigs.  Listening to the crowd tape brings me right back there!  The excitement, singing along and powerful music brings tears to my eyes and gives me goosebumps.  Sometimes a crowd recording has so much crowd noise, it isn't always desirable, but at this gig it is wonderful!  Check out these recordings for a trip back 30 years.

Tennessee Jed

Franklin's Tower

Mississippi Half-Step

As one might imagine there were many musicians that wanted to participate that night and here is a rundown:

Don Davis on alto sax during the first set/most of the songs

Ben Rudnick on guitar during Eyes, Let It Rock, Mississippi Half-Step and encores

Dillon Peters on guitar during Iko-Iko and Fire/Scarlet ending

Ian Horseman on guitar during Going Down the Road, China Cat and I Know You Rider

Rajiv (Raj) Sodlapur soundman

This is a live audience recording and the quality is what it is, but the overall sound and significance is huge!  The songs were long with much jamming and solos galore!  Dillon, on Fire, uses a great pedal and gets resounding cheers for his solo.   John is still looking for the tape with the rest of the show, but some songs were taped over that night from the sometimes chaotic and dimly lit club surroundings.  There will be a few more songs to come soon.

SEND YOUR PHOTOS AND STORIES ABOUT LICHEN!

I  save A LOT!....and I have a lot  of Lichen  memorabelia to share.   John  has recorded/ saved a lot of tapes/cd's/etc. of  almost every performance, this picture  shows a microscopic portion of it.  We are organizing and rediscovering all the shows and memories.  We will be transferring old recording medias to new ones, cementing shows and happenings to our memories, and then eventually sharing  them with you.  In a few years we will have a finished product, a video that will consist of     stories/pictures and eventually interviews with all our Lichen friends.  Help us out with this project and reach out to anyone you    know or knew at the time and encourage them to reach out to me.  This is just in the beginning stages and still a lot of figuring out to do.  Thanks everyone!
